Frequently Asked Questions
Q. When is the last date we can order Advent Calendars and have them arrive by December 1st?
A. Within the continental U.S., we recommend ordering by Thanksgiving for USPS delivery. For rush delivery, see our other shipping options.
Q. How do you protect the calendars in shipping?
A. We ship all of our calendars in sturdy no-bend, stay-flat mailers. Any calendar damaged in shipping will be replaced free of charge (contact us for return procedures).
Q. How many windows are opened in Advent Calendars?
A. Traditional German Advent Calendars count down from December 1 to December 24 --- the last window is opened on Christmas Eve, usually revealing the Nativity scene.
Q. What should I look for in a quality Advent Calendar?
A. Genuine Advent Calendars have quality German craftsmanship. The pictures behind the windows match the context of the cover scene, and the windows are die-cut to match the drawing. Cheaper calendars have nonsense pictures.
Q. For what ages are Advent Calendars most appropriate?
A. Ages three to adult will enjoy these calendars. Small children will need some help to carefully open the windows, but all ages will enjoy watching the scene unfold each day as the calendar counts down to Christmas Eve. We have seen our Advent Calendars adorn classrooms and business offices as well as bedrooms and family rooms.
Q. Can I use the same Advent Calendar more than one year?
A. After Christmas, some Grinches close the windows and try to re-use the same calendar the following year, assuming their children will not remember. We even heard reports of one father putting a dab of glue on each closed window to make it feel 'new' eleven months later. Such Scrooges are stunned to find out their children remember every single window of the past year's calendar! Having a new calendar definitely adds to the excitement of Christmas, and is a fun tradition to enjoy.
Q. In the religious Advent Calendars with Bible verses, what verses are used?
A. Bible verses appropriate for Christmas are taken from Psalms, Isaiah, Matthew, and Luke. The verses appear on the back of the window, and match the picture behind the window. All verses are in English, and the reference is given for each verse.

Q. Do you have Advent Calendars with chocolate behind the windows?
A. We are proud to say our Advent Calendars are chocolate-free! Seriously, we simply have not found genuine quality Advent Calendars with chocolate or candy behind the windows that can withstand typical shipping conditions. Let us know if you have a source to recommend!
Q. Can I obtain wholesale quantities from Advent Calendar Gifts ?
A. Yes, but these orders must be finalized by June. Please contact us for details.
